Steps Towards Circularity

Sustainability was suitably high on the agenda, with innovative discussions focusing on how it can drive design, ignite material innovation, foster community collaboration and cultivate new aesthetic values. The emphasis is on bio-based, low-carbon-footprint materials derived from regenerative crops, like hemp, flax and bamboo, aiming to displace harmful synthetics.

Soft Minimalism

Scandinavian minimalism prevails, with designers embracing a reductionist ethos characterised by simplicity, natural colour schemes, organic textures and fine craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from both Scandinavian and Japanese influences, visually captivating showrooms and relaxed installations at 3 Days of Design evoked a sense of calm and wellbeing.

Modern Industrial

Aluminium and steel continue to dominate new contemporary furniture and décor, aligning with our Key Trends observed at Milan Design Week in April. Diverging from playfulness and soft minimalism, designers are exploring the fusion of industrial and raw/organic elements. Travertine and marble bring natural elegance to monolithic designs.
