Held in Munich (June 3-5), Outdoor by Ispo showcases the latest products and material advances in outdoor apparel and gear from new and established brands. This season’s focus was on ease, longevity and sustainable performance, with responsible sourcing and processing, repairability and circularity in the spotlight.
While there were no groundbreaking sustainability advances on show, the industry continues to assert its commitment to eco-responsible materiality, where resources and processing are approached with comprehensive care. Recycled and bio-based qualities are favoured over virgin synthetics, whereas waste and emissions are kept to a minimum and reused.

Brands are working to extend the life of products through simplified modular designs that ease repair (and aid recycling), and timeless colour and finish choices that offer long-term appeal. The life cycle of materials is also a key consideration: closed-loop systems and monomaterial constructions are progressing to ensure resources are reused rather than wasted.
Ease, comfort and convenience are among the key factors driving innovation. Ultra-lightness remains in focus, helping to make products easier to handle while optimising performance. Robust materials elevate portable and protective equipment, whereas ultraviolet (UV) protection, ventilation and quick-drying technologies bring more comfort to summer activities.
