Technology show IFA 2022 (September 2-6) returned in full force to Berlin for the first time post-pandemic. The trifecta of sustainability, resource scarcity, and the energy crisis were clear drivers of purposeful innovation. Electronics that help consumers make savings around the house were significant, while industry efforts to become less wasteful resulted in interesting service-based solutions.
As energy, water and raw materials surge in price and scarcity, consumers are seeking electronics that serve the triple purpose of saving costs, minimising environmental damage, and addressing more lightweight living preferences. Brands are responding by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) that delivers ultra-precise usage, as well as with polyfunctional products and resource-saving new technologies.
