Food tech launches at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES, January 7-10, Las Vegas) ranged from all-in-one kitchen gadgets to streamlined nutrition tracking services. Across categories, exhibitors sought to tweak people’s relationship with both food consumption and preparation, leveraging tech to make the route to satisfying, nutritious meals easy regardless of schedules, skills or location.
As at CES 2024, exhibitors showcased appliances that can execute a specific dish or cooking process from start to finish. Smart brands are narrowing their focus to specific personas, from enthusiastic (but time-crunched) chefs to those seeking an alternative to ready meals. Cue hyper-targeted products, like an autonomous tortilla maker or an on-demand cold-brew coffee machine.

The digital health pavilion at CES featured many tools to help individuals manage and improve their nutrition. While weight loss is a motivating factor for some, brands are increasingly creating services to enhance consumers’ self-awareness about their diet. This may mean wearing a metabolism analysis device or opting to grow produce at home.
Smart exhibitors showed that food brands can be active participants in society-wide issues, be it sustainability, longevity, or even artificial intelligence (AI). The best products are nimble and slip into daily routines, whether that’s a service that brings AI flavour-blending to a local café or highly palatable (nutritious) treats for individuals with dementia.
