The annual Pinterest Predicts report uses global consumer search data to forecast burgeoning cross-category trends for the coming year. We highlight the six trends set to make a commercial impact in fashion, with links to relevant Stylus reporting.
- Seeing Double: A playful styling trend for 2025, Pinterest has seen an uptick in searches for ‘coordinating outfits for friends’ (+60%) and ‘matching outfits for couples casual’ (+90%). Possibly spurred by Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, searches for ‘bracelets matching’ increased by 70% – so it’s a key area for jewellery and gifting.
- Fisherman Aesthetic: Echoing the tastes of our Curated Lifestyles cohorts from Youth Style Collectives 25, this trend leans into a youth-led pragmatism and increased love for the outdoors. Searches like ‘fisherman sandals’, ‘cable-knit jumper’ and ‘raincoat outfit ideas’ are up by 30%, 110% and 35%, respectively.
- Moto Boho: Confirming what we identified on the S/S 2025 catwalks, fashion is experiencing a major boho revival, with Pinterest users searching for ‘lace skirt outfit’ (+360%), ‘moto boots outfit’ (+445%) and ‘slouchy bag’ (+345%). We’re predicting this trend to have commercial longevity beyond 2025 - see our S/S 26 Fashion Direction Enshrine for more.
- Dolled Up: Inspired by everything from Bratz and Barbie to Marc Jacobs and Maison Margiela, playful, doll-like dress-up remains key for 2025 and will be especially commercial for accessories in the junior market. See Halloween 2025 and our S/S 25 Fashion Direction Circus for more.
- Rococo Revival: Pinterest has cited rococo aesthetics as crucial for 2025 celebrations and events, meaning there’s opportunity in escapist occasionwear as Gen Z favourite Regencycore evolves into something more opulent. Searches for ‘rococo outfit’ have surged by 5,465%. See the New Wave Romantics from Gen Z Style IRL 24/25 for further insights.
- Castlecore: Elsewhere, historical escapism adopts a rebellious and increasingly gothic perspective. Searches for ‘medieval core’ have risen by 110%, while castles, chain mail and antique jewellery all drive this emerging aesthetic.
