Circular Innovations Sweep NeoCon 2025

High-performance, circular materials were central to launches. The Fern office chair by Haworth (US) is constructed from recycled post-production and post-consumer plastic, closing the manufacturing loop, while Italian manufacturer Aquafil showed a collection of luxurious flooring solutions created using 100% post-consumer nylon, ocean waste and industrial discards.

Other companies looked to zero-waste solutions, with US-based Green Hides presenting carbon-neutral Sorrento leather crafted from byproduct hides. British brand Isomi debuted its modular Knit One sofa. Made with innovative zero-waste 3D-knitting processes, the foam-free seating system consists solely of 100% recycled and recyclable polyester fabric covers applied to metal frames.

Elsewhere, C2C-certified leader in sustainable and contract design Andreu World (Spain) presented its latest collection of circular furniture, including pieces by renowned designers Patricia Urquiola (Spain) and Benjamin Hubert (UK).

Speaking on the need for more circular-design innovation, Todd Heiser, regional managing principal at Gensler said: “The journey to more regenerative spaces begins not with grand gestures, but with the quiet power of mindful materials.” And, with sustainable products delivering up to 25% revenue gains for businesses (PwC, 2025) and 69% of executives believing sustainability should be a higher priority (IBM, 2024), there is a clear incentive for manufacturers and businesses to invest in circular material innovation.
