Dating services are projected to reach $8.85bn by 2029, up from $7.78bn in 2023 (Statista, 2024). But 61% of American daters alone say profiles feel inauthentic (showing curated personas), making it more difficult to find genuine connection (Match, 2025). Responding to dating app fatigue, new apps harness artificial intelligence (AI) to match singles with greater precision for lasting relationships.

New York-based Sitch uses an AI matchmaker (trained by humans). It asks users 50 questions to build a detailed profile (like education, career, physical preferences) and then suggests matches. If both users are interested, the AI starts a chat to help them plan a date. After a first date, users can give feedback on their match to refine future connections.

Currently focused on students in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ditto AI creates a user profile based on an in-depth a questionnaire covering personal details, romantic preferences and beyond. An AI-powered algorithm then identifies good matches. When there’s a match, both singles are sent a first date plan (with a time, date and location), but couples don’t get to chat beforehand. All users are identity-verified, dates are held in vetted “safe coffee shops”, and a support team is on standby to ensure safety.

Belgian dating platform Browser.Dating (founded by artist and developer Dries Depoorter) matches singles based on their browsing history. Users upload their browsing history to the platform, where it’s analysed by AI to create a “browsing profile”. The AI matches users with similar interests. Potential matches won’t see each other’s search history but are shown shared habits, like searching for ski trips or late-night browsing. Additionally, the platform suggests conversation starters based on mutual interests.

Meanwhile, singles are looking for love in real life – a topic we’ve highlighted since 2023 in The Brief and Internet Trends 101: New Romance.
