Making its entry into the haircare market, high-street giant Zara has debuted a limited-edition collection of holiday-ready hair products. Formulated and designed by renowned British hair stylist Guido Palau, the Glitter in Gold styling kit targets sophisticated party hairstyles and celebrates all individuals and hair types.

As a teaser of the full range, set to launch in 2024, the initial capsule includes two hair accessories and two products inspired by skin highlighters. The Give Me Glitter Hair Make-Up spray contains extra-fine glitter and adds a radiant gold shimmer for a luminous effect. Additionally, the Give Me Gold Hair Make-Up Gel adds a brass colour with a white gold matte finish while providing a firm yet flexible hold that doesn’t feel heavy. The metallic gold styling comb is designed with wide teeth, making it a versatile choice for any hair texture, while the oversized gold bobby pins help to accessorise and elevate any look for the holiday season.

As we predicted in Christmas & Celebration 2023: Beauty Inspiration, metallic styling comes through in an industrial-chic trend, with glittery and lustrous light-reflecting pigments key for accents in hair, beauty and accessories.

Zara’s entry into the haircare market speaks to the increasing consumer interest in premium beauty and haircare products (see Beauty’s Quiet Luxury Transition) as well as an easier, more user-friendly way for beauty enthusiasts to achieve extreme looks seen on the catwalks. “Being a hair professional, I work with products that are very highly produced and strong, but I think the public want a product that doesn’t weigh their hair down and does not make it greasy or sticky,” said Palau.
