Following on from previous seasonal edits, key shows of the Autumn/Winter 2024 men’s catwalk season celebrated softer and longer hairstyles alongside modernised mullets and intricate twists, while clean and natural skin finishes were offset by fun colour play.

Fresh Skin

Hyper-clean and fresh skin dominates complexions across the season, with minimal colour enhancement positioning flawless skin as the focus. Youthful, dewy finishes emerge, supporting a natural, skincare-forward vision, showcasing the transitional appeal of the quiet luxury trend across both men’s and women’s beauty.

Colour Play

Bold bleached hair emerges as a full head of colour, dispersed throughout the strands or added to fringed tips, while strong blues and reds appear as experimental bright tones. Beyond hair, eye make-up manifests as painterly accents, like glittery pastel blue, or more dominant pops of metallic adornment – both to commercial effect. New men-focused make-up brands, such as Obayaty (Sweden), are enabling access to better, design-led tools and inspiration for men to explore colour cosmetics.

Modernised Mullet

The mullet continues to evolve this season, with a range of multidimensional cuts spanning short-and-straight feathery styles and longer textured waves and curls with a wet-look finish. Hair extends down over the ears or is shaved for a modern take (see Louis Vuitton).

Playful Shapes

Extreme side partings with ultra-sleek finishes and set with curved edges emerge alongside asymmetric afros, demonstrating experimentation with shape and styling. Gilded tooth-mark effects or wet sections are offset by dryer curls at the bottom for added play.
