One of the biggest current beauty trends, cherry is resonating beyond fragrance and driving product development across colour cosmetics and skincare. Predicted by Pinterest as a trending colour for 2025, the rich classic shade is being embraced by new collections, while skincare launches are infusing cherries into their formulas to amplify sensoriality and product efficacy.

Provocative Fragrance: As highlighted in Fragrance Projections 25-27, cherry notes are selected for their playful indulgence and decadent sensuality, bringing boldness and elegance to perfumes. New Notes (Italy) includes the fruit in its Latte Di Cherry fragrance for its playful sweetness, while American popstar Sabrina Carpenter’s Cherry Baby is marketed as a flirty, addictive scent. A captivating passionate spirit is embodied by BDK Parfums’ (France) Rouge Smoking Extrait, which reimagines the fruit with depth and intensity. Elsewhere, new Australian brand Who Is Elijah’s Cherry Fiesta reveals the sultry interplay of ripe cherry and florals for a lasting impression that feels sweet yet suggestive.

Superfruit Skincare: Antioxidant-rich cherries are embraced within new skincare products to boost collagen production, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and keep the skin looking youthful and bright. UK-based Zelens uses West Indian/Barbados cherry in its Anti-Ageing Cream, Daily Defence Sunscreen and Collagen-Boosting & Brightening Concentrate. Meanwhile, US-based Fenty Beauty’s new Cherry Dub Pore Purify’r Gel Cleanser harnesses the fruit and its rich colour for its skin-brightening and -clarifying properties. Elemis (UK) is also capitalising on the popularity of the cherry with a juicy, decadent Black Cherry aromatic version of its “No.1 best-selling cleanser”.

Colour Cosmetics: Cherry red – a colour that feels classic and decadent, as well as warming and sensual with a feminine edge – is driving new make-up collections. Glossier (US) recently launched the Black Cherry range, where its cult favourites Balm Dotcom and Cloud Paint are available in a rich burgundy shade, as are its Lip Line and No.1 Pencil. Elsewhere, Merit (US) has added new shades to its Flush Balm range, including Postmodern – a brown-toned cherry.
