A burst of new brands and products rooted in sensual experiences is coming to market. From bodycare and bathing to fragrance and sexual wellbeing, the beauty industry is shifting towards more aspirational rituals of sensual indulgence, with exciting innovation centred on elevated wellness, pleasure and intimacy.

Following recent launches likes US-based luxury bodycare brand Mienne, which centres on aphrodisiacs and skincare actives for enhanced pleasure (see The Brief for more), new sexual wellness brand Ples’Jour (UK) redefines intimacy as a sophisticated and intentional aspect of self-care. Its silicone-based lubricant features a science-backed body-safe formula, and is housed in an elegant sculptural vessel to further empower, celebrate and transform intimate moments into a luxurious experience.

Elsewhere, bathing culture is inspiring modern beauty innovations, speaking to demands from consumers like the Ancient Beauty Revivalists, who are fuelled by heritage and traditional ceremonies with a contemporary twist. UK-based 39BC’s bodycare is inspired by the rituals of Egyptian and Roman bathhouses. It draws on the sacred power of water and its use to cleanse, heal and connect the body and heighten the senses for enhanced pleasure. For example, the brand’s Sage Water Oil Body Cleanser transforms with water into a soft, milky wash leaving the skin smooth, quietly luminous and faintly perfumed with the scent of petrichor and moss.

In the fragrance sector, UK-based neuroscience perfume brand Vyrao has introduced two new sensuality-boosting scents. Ludeux and Ludatrix are formulated to ignite seduction, passion and arousal. The former features floral notes of jasmine and magnolia, combined with peach skin, tonka bean and ambrette, while the latter combines notes of lipstick and latex with invigorating sichuan pepper, orris, musk and sandalwood.
