Returning to Las Vegas for its largest-ever edition, the Kitchen & Bathroom Industry Show (February 25-27) brought together the biggest brands in kitchen and bathroom design to share their newest releases and innovations. We break down three key trends to watch.
- Personality Prioritised: Customisation was key to new launches throughout KBIS. The Orme collection pedestal sinks by British-based Kast come in a range of 28 playful hues, to be mixed and matched freely. Toto (US) showcased its latest range of sinks; inspired by the four seasons, they are available in vibrant forest green, mandarin orange, scarlet red and ash blue. Artistic Tile (US) debuted bold new tile collections created with Italian-American textile label Donghia.
Elsewhere, lighting and audio personalisation were centred by American brands Robern and Kohler, with the latter showing its Anthem+ digital shower system. New features include SoundTile shower speakers, invigoration steam and an ice shower feature, bolstering the company’s foray into wellness (see The Brief). - Sustainable Surfaces: Brands continued to stress their dedication to the environment with sustainable stone surfaces. Previewed collections from Caesarstone (Israel) and Cosentino (Spain) are silica-free and made with up to 80% and 90% recycled materials respectively. Spanish brand Neolith enlisted American interior designer Vanessa Deleon to curate an edit of its sustainable surfaces, as used in her company’s projects. Kohler’s WasteLab, meanwhile, exhibited its latest collaboration: the Landshapes tile collection, created from diverted waste streams with American artist Daniel Arsham.
- High-End Hardware: Plumbing fixtures in luxury finishes elevate kitchen and bathroom design, with a range of companies showing unexpected material combinations. Highlights included stone-embellished taps and showerheads from Kallista, marble and wood-finished handles from Emtek, an apothecary-inspired collection by Rohl, and fluid kitchen fixtures inlaid with wood, concrete and glass from Brizo’s ongoing collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation (all US).
