Kate Johnson

In her role as Advisory Strategist, Kate supports a raft of clients with their strategic projects. She joined Stylus in 2015 as a researcher, swiftly progressing to senior editor. In this role, she steered the consumer attitudes and emerging technology content, presenting at events on stages around the world, as well as managing a team of in-house and global contributors.

Kate began her career in the legal world, developing business for Norton Rose's energy team and managing investment banking client relationships for Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance. Completing a Master’s degree in International Journalism, she achieved a distinction for her final piece, Awakening to the Therapeutic Benefits of Psychedelics – and it’s worth noting that she’s a qualified psychotherapist.

When Covid hit, Kate took advantage of the newfound ability to work from anywhere to leave London for rural New Zealand and try her hand at the homesteading lifestyle, embracing self-sufficient food cultivation alongside her role in the Advisory team.

She thrives on distilling complex information into the most impactful consumer trends and industry developments relevant to the brands she works with. Particular areas of expertise include unearthing consumer attitude and behavioural shifts on a macro level, decoding tech developments, and analysing the evolving wellness landscape.

She considers it a pleasure and honour to work with such curious, intelligent people that continuously challenge conventional thinking and mix creativity with sharp commercial acumen.
